Our volunteers

The work is done by people from here.

Both drives are run start to finish by volunteers who live in Coffee County. Nobody is paid, and nobody is a stranger to the town.

What our volunteers do

Tree setup

Late November · one evening

Hang tags, string lights, set the table up at the host location.

Gift sorting

December · a few Saturdays

Match incoming gifts to tag numbers and bag them by family.

Pick-up night

Week before Christmas

Greet families, carry bags to cars, keep the coffee going.

Supply shopping

Late July

Bulk shopping runs and packing parties for the Back to School Drive.

How people join

Every volunteer is checked first

Our volunteers work around children, and they see the registration details families trust us with. Everyone who takes one of these roles completes a background check before their first shift.

Because of that we do not take volunteer sign-ups through this website. Places are arranged in person, through the churches and businesses we already work alongside. [Placeholder: who to speak to locally about joining a drive, and what the check involves.]

Other ways to pitch in

Plenty of help needs no roster at all. Take a tag off the Christmas tree, host a collection box at your business or church, or give toward the Back to School Drive.
